"This year we really want to focus on not only a fun family event, we also want to bring great quality seafood" says festival coordinator, Monica Couture. "We are in our 28th year and we want to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the whole family, we also recognize that the Seafood Festival is an ideal venue to provide festival goers an opportunity to get educated about the best practices and environmental choices in seafood as well as sustainability and traceability in the US Food service. It is critical to provide awareness in the food choices that are made and we feel that with the participation of organizations like Pacific Seafood, one of the most successful vertically integrated and family owned seafood processing and distribution companies in the Northwest and the Marine Stewardship Council, a global organization working with fisheries, seafood companies, scientists, conservation groups, and the public to promote the best environmental choice in seafood. The Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce's Annual Seafood Festival is not only making a huge step in the right direction, but also paving the way for such an exciting quality event for years to come!"

The Pittsburg Seafood Festival began in September 1984 in the historic New York Landing District. The Festival is now held on Railroad Ave over a two-day period. Paid parking will be conveniently available on 3 rd Street and Harbor. Free shuttles will be running from the event's parking lot to the main entrance gate on Third Ave.

"This year's event promises to bring lots of new and exciting changes" says Harry York, the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce CEO.
